Located just outside Queenstown, Coronet Peak is home to 40km of varied slopes and good snowmaking coverage.

Four main lifts serve all of the mountain’s terrain, which is very varied for a relatively small area.

There are long winding blues off the summit and down to the foot of the Greengates Express, reds including the Out Wide GS run are popular and the Back Bowls offer great steep terrain from the summit.

Beginners are well catered for at the base of the mountain via the Meadows Express and those of you looking for a night ski will find an excellent variety of blues and reds lit every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Coronet Peak’s location makes it exceptionally convenient as it only sits 20 minutes from Queenstown. Accommodation is plentiful, with lots of budget options available, including numerous backpacker hostels and campsites. Away from the slopes, Queenstown is renowned as an extreme sports centre, allowing you to give bungee jumping, sky diving or jet-boating a go on a morning away from the slopes.

Flying to Queenstown via either Christchurch or Auckland gives you the quickest access to the mountains. We’d recommend having a car however, as this will give you an option to visit a number of different resorts nearby (such as Cardrona, Treble Cone and The Remarkables).
